Cool Colorful Wire

Colored wire is more popular than ever. It is also a lot easier to find than it used to be. Recently, I even found a wide selection in my local craft store. It comes in all kinds of colors and gauges, and a number of companies now manufacture or distribute it such as Fun Wire, Artistic Wire, and Colour Craft. If you’ve been wanting to play with it but need some ideas to get started, here are a few to get your creative wire juices flowing:

1. Use colored wire to create colorful findings such as clasps that will match or accent the colors in a finished piece of jewelry.

2. Make your own wire beads using colored wire and include them in your bead stringing projects.

3. Thin gauge color wire can be combined with seed beads to create fun bead projects such as spiders and butterflies.

4. Colored wire can be used to accent lampwork beads.

Now there’s no excuse to get some colored wire and get creative!

You can find wire suppliers on line in the Wire Supplies Subject area of this site.

Have you used much of the colored wire that is so popular now? If so, what have you made with it?
