Flower Strap

For the strap on the Ribbon Amulet project, I luckily found some flower shaped beads to use. However, there is another easy way to add a flower look to your strap. Since so many ribbon patterns have a floral design, try this idea some time. I used this technique on the strap of the piece pictured below.

You’ll need all the supplies used in the Ribbon Amulet project plus three Miyuki fringe beads for each flower you want to add to your strap.

1. Make the strap as described in the Ribbon Amulet project.

2. When you start stringing on beads and wish to add a "flower," slip on three fringe beads consecutively.

3. Push the fringe beads together to create your flower.

4. Continue stringing on your other beads.

5. Add three fringe beads and push together for each flower.

This is a very easy trick, but it looks really good. Plus, you can use these beads in the fringe or sew them onto other areas of the ribbon so the look ties together.
