Square Bead Wire Bangle

I’ve already posted instructions for a basic wire bangle and beaded bangle. This square bead wire bangle project is a twist on this simple bangle bracelet. The procedures for all of these bangles are basically the same. In fact, you can following the instructions for the beaded wire bangle and just make a few changes as follows:

Use 1 inch square stone beads instead of round beads. You’ll need about 8 square beads. For the bangle pictured, I used hematite beads.

You’ll need the same type of tools except you won’t need the snap ring pliers.

For an added touch, I added 2mm gold-filled beads on either side of the square hematite beads. So, I strung on 1 gold-filled, then 1 square bead, then 1 gold-filled bead.

Instead of just adding a few beads in the middle of the bracelet, these beads go all around the bracelet.

You’ll need a little more half round gold-filled wire because you’ll be wrapping in between each group of beads you add as described above. So you’ll add the three beads, then wrap, add three beads, then wrap, and continue this all the way down the bracelet.

After adding the beads and wrapping between them, you don’t need to use the snap ring pliers to pull the wire away from the beads. Just shape the bracelet by bending the wire around a bracelet mandrel or can of soup.

A variety of stone beads come in the 1 inch square shapes, so the possibilities are endless!
