"S" Wire Earrings

If youve already made the amulet hooks or the hook and eye clasp, then youve already used part of the technique needed to make these "S" earrings. If not, dont worry. These earrings are simple to make.
Youll need the following:
Round nosed pliers
Wire cutters
Jewelers files
6" - 18 gage wire (your choice)
2 ear hooks
1. First cut the wire in half so you have 2 pieces 3" long, and file the ends smooth.
2. Use the round nosed pliers and make a small loop at the end of each wire. One loop should face up and the other down.

3. At approx. ¾" from the end of one looped end, bend the wire. You can probably just use your hands or you can also use the round nosed pliers. The wire should resemble the picture below.

4. Next, bend the other end of the wire in the opposite direction. You should have an "S."

5. You can now add this "S" to your ear hook.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 to create a second earring.
There are a number of variations you can create with this design.
- You can slip a bead onto the wire before bending it.

- You can add jump rings to the top of the "S" and then add the hear hooks to the rings.
- You can use 2 "S" pieces on each earrings with jump rings connecting them.
- You can dangle beads from head pins off the "S."
I hope you get a chance to try to make these. It takes only a few minutes and little wire. You might even come up with your own variations.
