Clover Chain

By combining various wire components, you can create a variety of simple chain designs. This chain project combines my wire clover design and jump rings to create a clover style chain. It can either by left unsoldered or soldered. Remember the key to creating any style of chain that you do not plan to solder is to ensure that all your joints are flush when closing. This requires flush cutting and sometimes some filing, but it is worth it to make sure you chain stays together.

You can make this chain design as long or as short as you want and create anything from some simple chain style earrings or a more involved necklace length piece.

1. Start by creating all the components, which include jump rings and clovers. Use the directions I have already posted, or you may have your own methods for creating these.

2. Once you have all your components made, you can start putting them together. Open two jump rings, and then insert two of the loops of a clover piece into the rings.

3. Use pliers to close the jump rings.

4. Add two jump rings to the other side of the clover.

5. Continue connecting each clover using two jump rings until you have the length of chain you desire.

This chain looks much better when it is hanging than when it is flat on my scanner. But, I think you can get the idea from the picture above.
