Subtle Heart Earrings & Pendants

You don't have to have Valentine's jewelry jump out at you. By using some stamped components, findings, and a few beads, you can create Valentine's Day jewelry that is wearable all year long. I created a pendant that you can add to a chain, a beaded necklace, or make a duplicate for some extra dangling earrings, and I also made a romantic pair of earrings.

The Component: Both designs use a stamped component from Guyot Brothers, which has a subtle heart motif around the piece. One component has connector loops at the top and bottom, and the other has for connectors spaced symmetrically around the piece.

The Beads: I included hematite heart beads, a few crystals and glass seed beads, and I also used cathedral glass beads to add extra sparkle.

The Findings: For earrings, of course, you'll need your choice of ear wires. I used head pins and eye pins to connect the beads to the heart components.

The Techniques: I used the wrap loop technique, but you could also use a simple loop design to connect all of the elements that make up these designs.
