Christmas Colors
During the holidays, it’s always fun to wear festive, colorful jewelry to brighten your day. Maybe you work in an office or school. Dressing to show your enthusiasm for the holiday will make you smile and may also make others smile. Color is one way to brighten any wardrobe. Though beads can bring some wonderful color to your jewelry designs, don’t forget about the type of cord you use. Both the
illusion or tin cup necklace styles are quick and easy to make and work well with a variety of stringing materials. Here are a few to consider that will help brighten any holiday jewelry.
Good old nylon comes in a huge variety of colors, and are available at any bead store whether on-line or in your local area.
Rat-tail is economical and comes in some wonderful colors. It can be purchased at fabric or craft stores.
Soft flex ® comes in a rainbow of colors now. Though it’s available through the manufacturer, it’s a staple with bead stores today.
Hemp is also being dyed now and can be found in all kinds of colors. I’ve even seen colored hemp available in the craft section at my local discount store.

Elastic cord is hot now and, besides the clear kind, it also comes in vibrant colors. It’s soft and wonderful to work with. Here are a few quick necklaces I made. The green is colored elastic with carnelian beads that I made into a tin cup necklace. The other is red elastic with a few green glass beads that I strung on.

So, either make a trip to your local bead or craft store, or dig around in your bead box and see what colorful creations you can make for the holidays. Have fun!
