How to Make Simple Bead Earrings
From your Jewelry Making Guide

Learning to make earrings using a few beads, head pins, ear hooks, wire cutters, and round nosed pliers is a good first step when learning to make jewelry.

Difficulty Level: Easy    Time Required: 10 minutes

Here's How:
  1. Slip beads onto head pin in the desired design.
  2. There should be about 1' of space from the beads to the end of the head pin. If more, use wire cutters to trim off excess.
  3. Use round nosed pliers to bend top of head pin away from you so it forms an L.
  4. Position nose in the middle of the piece bent in step 3, and curl towards you.
  5. Do not close curl yet.
  6. Slip ear hook onto curl.
  7. Use round nosed pliers to finish closing curl.
  8. Repeat steps above for other earring.

Tips:

  1. Try to avoid using plated findings as eventually the plating tends to come off.
  2. If you need to make a lot of the same kind of earrings, create a little assembly line to help speed up the process.
