How to Make Simple Bead Earrings
From your Jewelry Making Guide
Learning to make earrings using a few beads, head pins, ear hooks, wire cutters, and round nosed pliers is a good first step when learning to make jewelry.
Difficulty Level:
Easy
Time Required:
10 minutes
Here's How:
- Slip beads onto head pin in the desired design.
- There should be about 1' of space from the beads to the end of the head pin. If more, use wire cutters to trim off excess.
- Use round nosed pliers to bend top of head pin away from you so it forms an L.
- Position nose in the middle of the piece bent in step 3, and curl towards you.
- Do not close curl yet.
- Slip ear hook onto curl.
- Use round nosed pliers to finish closing curl.
- Repeat steps above for other earring.
Tips:
- Try to avoid using plated findings as eventually the plating tends to come off.
- If you need to make a lot of the same kind of earrings, create a little assembly line to help speed up the process.
