Oxidized Charm

While sometimes we, as jewelry makers, spend a great deal of effort and time to clean and and polish our jewelry, especially our metal jewelry, other times we do totally the opposite. We purposely make it dirty. Another word for this is oxidation. By purposely darkening the metal in certain areas, this can bring out some interesting details that otherwise are not as noticeable when a metal piece of jewelry is highly polished. There are a number of different methods for oxidizing metal, but one popular was is by using Liver of Sulphur. In this tutorial, I explain and show you how to use Liver of Sulphur to bring out the details in your metal jewelry.
