Fun with Filigree and Brass

B'Sue Boutique Copper Jewelry Components

I recently received some samples from B'Sue Boutiques, a company that specializes American-made stampings. Many of these components are made from brass and copper, so their are an affordable alternative to silver and gold-filled, two metals that are out of most people's price range these days. Filigree components and charms give you all kinds of designing options. For example, using a simple brass charm, I was inspired to make this bracelet: Such Is Life Crystal and Wire Bracelet.

If you have been interested with the idea of using more base metal materials like these but weren't sure how to deal with them, one excellent resource is the company's YouTube channel. For example, she shows how to make collage jewelry and also has a video on Steampunk jewelry.
