I started off as an Etsy lurker, then I bought a few things, and years later I became both a buyer and seller over there. I have purchased t-shirts, soap, herbs, jewelry supplies, crochet hooks, a banner, well, all kinds of stuff. I could find lots more to buy too, but I try to be good. However, when I need something and I know that I will find it there or at least I think I will, that is the first place I go because I want to help out other small businesses.
This got me thinking about the whole experience when joining one of these types of sites, and I'd like to hear from you. Please take this quick poll, and feel free to expand in the comments.

I don’t often buy, but I love to browse – there are so many talented artists on sites like Etsy, it’s always inspiring! I love funky retro things, vintage and collage, the sort of things you don’t really find in shops.
I first discovered Etsy when a geek friend linked a pendant stamped with “Soylent Green is People!”
I have been surprised at how many people still have never heard of Etsy or any of the other similar sites.
I have to say I am a Etsy lurker mainly looking at clothing and jewellery.
But I have made one purchase though.
Hi, Tammy!
I have purchased from Etsy, mainly jewelry supplies, but I do like to browse and do some “window shopping” there!
I haven’t set up a shop there yet because I think it’s too oriented for that part of the world, and since I’m from Europe, I’m trying to find European alternatives for etsy… not so easy, but I’ll keep at it!
Thank you for writing such a great blog and website. You’re my “go to” person when I need to find out how to do something! Thanks!
Kisses,
Cristina, from Sunshine’s Creations
