If you enjoy working with beads, a wonderful holiday idea is making beaded ornament covers. These "covers" go over the top of a plain glass bulb, and boy, they really jazz them up! I have made these for gifts and slipped them into a bubble wrap mailer with instructions for the recipient to place them on top of a bulb. This helps keep shipping costs down, and your gift-ee is very grateful for the gorgeous transformation of those tacky old bulbs.
