I am proud to announce that you'll find a few of my designs in the July 2010 issue of BeadStyle magazine. The theme of this issue is "all star." The editor, Cathy Jakicic, contacted some of the magazine's favorite magazine contributors, and I was lucky enough to be selected. Obviously, the pressure was on to create some wonderful so I didn't disappoint them.
We were asked to pull inspiration from where we lived, and since I live in Florida, that was pretty easy - water and sand! There is plenty of that around here. You can see my contribution, a necklace and earring design incorporating pearls, crystals, mother of pearl beads, and silver, on pages 46 to 48.
Along with myself, some other names you might recognize include Katie Hacker (her piece made the cover!), Heather Powers, and Jean Yates, just to name a few. In total, 15 designers contributed to the "all-star" section of this issue.
Between my site here, book writing, and life in general, I haven't had time to submit to magazines for awhile, so this was special thrill, and I am very honored that the editors thought of including me. The magazine is out on newsstands now, or you can find out more about it on the magazine's web site.
