Find Great Jewelry Stuff

Follow me on:

I put up a poll recently asking readers what they'd like to see more of on this site in 2010. The results in some ways surprised me and in other ways didn't. Not surprisingly, beads and wire are still very popular. And that's good to know because I love working with both of them!

Then there were the surprises. First, I was surprised to see that fiber ranked so low on the poll. One of my top search words is "macrame," which of course requires fiber, so I was expecting to see more readers selecting that option.

Additionally, a lot of comments left made me wonder if readers actually knew how to locate information on the site because a number of items people asked for (such as chain maille, setting up a studio, and wire work) are already on the site. Not like I couldn't add more to any of these topics, of course, but it got me thinking: How can I help readers find what they need on this site?

Ta da! I developed a quick link reference list and posted it on the forum: Organization of the Site. I hope everyone finds it helpful and can hopefully locate what they need to know, assuming it is already here.

I also got some other good ideas from those who responded to the poll, so thank you to everyone for the suggestions! I really did find it all very helpful.

Thank you so much for making so much information available to people like me, struggling to find their niche and trying to make a business out of a hobby. ;)

Thanks guys! That’s good to know. Heck, I use the search box a lot myself, and I’m the one that maintains the site!

I love purusing your site, and sometimes would like to print out directions for a project, however, it takes longer to do this as each page has to be printed out independently. Could the webmasters consider revamping it so that the entire directions could be printed in their entirety? This would be greatly appreciated.

I fully agree with the others! This site is so great – thanks, Tammy! I also would like to be able to print out the directions more easily, and I would also like to be able to e-mail the directions to my other beadie-friends but there is no easy forwarding method that I can find.
Thanks for all you do!!!!

I agree on directions, I solved the problem by going to each page and copy and paste to a blank e-mail and then e-mail it to me and print it out. I can delete any unwanted stuff that pasted and have a nice copy of directions. A little work but worth it.
Love the site anyhow.

I don’t think people can’t find it, I think too many people are in a hurry and don’t look for it.
You site is easy to navagate.
Looking forward to your “other good ideas.”
