What Selling Site Is Right for You?

Creating a brand, packaging your jewelry, promoting your business on-line, perhaps with a weblog, all of these are strategies we consider when trying to create an on-line jewelry business. However, first we need to figure out the right way to sell our jewelry either through our own web site or one of the many venues out there that allow members to create a shop. This is something a few jewelry designers are discussing right now over at the Jewelry Making Forum: Artfire/Zibbet/Etsy, Which Is Right for You?

I don’t sell on any of these sites! I’ll have to go see what all your readers think :-)

Artfire and Etsy NO. My own website is the best for me.
Those sites you have to add new stuff all the time to get noticed. The jewelry market is so over staurated I give thanks to me returning customers and that’s what I focus on.

I am exploring other websites to sell from and am intrigued by your comments. My question to you is how long it took you to establish that solid customer base on your own websites and how you promoted your own website to be found on the search engines?

Thanks. I would appreciate any insights you have!
