Hurting for Jewelry Books?

Tuesday July 14, 2009

How is your jewelry book library coming along? Have you stopped buying books lately because they are getting a little too pricey for your jewelry making budget? Then maybe it's time to check out the hurt and overstocked book sale at Interweave Press. At least right now, they have a very large assortment of jewelry and beading books, many of which I've reviewed here already, such as Create Jewelry Stones: Stunning Designs to Make and Wear by Marlene Blessing and Jamie Hogsett.

They are marked down from 50 to 75% off the cover price, and along with lots of jewelry and beading books, they have all kinds of other crafting titles. You will also have to pay shipping, of course, but if you are looking for some good book deals, this is worth checking out even if you might get a book with a little boo-boo on it.

Great prices but shipping charges are too high in my opinion. :(

Great books, but in my case mission impossibble, because international shipping is too expensive, so it is not for me

I did think the shipping was high too, but honestly, every place I order off the web these days seems to have really gone up as far as shipping costs.

I agree that the shipping charge is too high. Media mail would be a more affordable option but is not offered.

I agree the shipping rates are too high. I live in London which is worse for me. I will stick to Amazon & a few other online shops I recently discovered. Good idea though.

Shipping is way too high but when I double-checked, I was still paying less for the 3 books I ordered than I would pay to get them from Amazon. They came in yesterday and I still can’t find where they’re “hurt”.

I ordered 2 books, and it was less then Amazon in some cases worth it, even with the overpriced shipping. Shipping at a certain amount is free on Amazon so overall still better in most cases.
My biggest issue is that the email said that it would 4-6 weeks or more for the books to arrive.. :-(

I also checked the prices on Amazon and found I was getting a better deal with the Interweave sale, even considering the cost of shipping. For example, one book I picked up used to be around $20 and I got it for about $5.
