Registration has already begun for the American Craft Council Conference to be held in Minneapolis, MN October 15-17, 2009. Early registration is open until July 8th, 2009. This year's conference program seems to be focusing on the current economy and its affect on crafting as well as future possibilities for the craft arts. Some of the speakers and lectures include the following: Richard Sennett - “The Craftsman in Society;” Elissa Auther - “Lifestyle and Livelihood in Craft Culture;” Faythe Levine - “A Handmade Nation;” and Rob Walker - “Handmade 2.0.” There are also a number of craft-related tours planned such as The Harding Design Studio, Kaemmer Glass Studio, Minnesota Historical Society and The Minnesota Center for Book Arts, Walker Art Center, Waterbury Collection.

You can find out more about the conference including travel information at the ACC web site.
