Puzzle Piece Jewelry

April is Austism Awareness month, and I know many of us are affected these days by this disorder or at the very least known someone who is. As more and more people learn about what it involves, there seems to be more questions than answers. However, I hope above anything that understanding and tolerance are two issues just about everyone can agree on.

One way you can show your support and help spread some awareness yourself is through making jewelry using puzzle piece components, which are symbolic of autism. After receiving a special request to make autism jewelry, I came up with a few projects to share:

A 12 yr old girl in Louisville, KY has started a foundation to build an Autism research center. She has already funded a $200,000 research study by selling beaded bracelets at $3 each. She will be selling these bracelets at Churchill Downs at the KY Derby on May 2nd.
