Cloisonnne Beads

Friday November 14, 2008

I recently received this beautiful cloisonne beads from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, so I've got a few design ideas rolling around in my head. They come as a set of three, with two smaller beads and one larger bead, obviously suggesting earrings and a necklace possibility.

The beads pictured include two beads that are 34x18mm and one larger bead that is 65x37mm. They are called "fat, rectangular," according to the product description in their catalog, but I wouldn't necessarily call them totally flat. They are sort of puffy.

Any way, I am still thinking about how I'll incorporate these into finished jewelry pieces, but they are so pretty "as is" that I wanted to just show them off.

I love cloisonne jewelry and I never considered that the beads would be available for purchase so that I could make my own stuff - Thanks for sharing!
