Miss a Recent Jewelry Book Review?
I've been catching up on my book reviews lately, though I still have a fairly good stack to get through. If you missed any of them, here are some of my more recent book reviews. First, there is Mostly Metals: A Beginner's Guide to Jewelry Design by Karin Buckingham. Definitely for the beginner, this book can introduce you to simple ways to incorporate metals into your jewelry designs, even if you are more into beads right now.
For the rock hounds out there, take a look at my review for Create Jewelry Stones: Stunning Designs to Make and Wear by Marlene Blessing and Jamie Hogsett. This book is part of Interweave's Create Jewelry series.
Then there is Picture Yourself Making Jewelry and Beading: Step-by-Step Instructions and Inspiration for Creating Unique, Handmade Jewelry by Denise Etchison and Sandy Doell. Though there are some beads used in this, it is mainly a metal fabrication book.
Finally, make sure you check out The Beader's Color Palette by Margie Deeb, who is a well-known color expert and beading instructor. If you are ready to take your beaded jewelry to the next level, color is important to consider.
