Are You a Bead Star?

Beading Daily editor Michelle Mach compares it to "American Idol only better." The "it" I'm talking about is the Bead Star Design Contest, and if you are thinking of entering, you had better get beading ASAP because the deadline is May 6, 2008. Ekkk! is right. We are already in the middle of April, folks.

This contest focuses on simple bead stringing techniques such as crimping, and a little basic wire work is okay to include. No bead weaving though, so keep it basic and think color, texture, and shape. There are nine categories, and 20 finalists will be selected from each one. Later each category will result in a first-place, second-place, and third-place winner and two honorable mentions. There will also be a grand prize winner as well, who will be selected from the first place winners in each category. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to Bead Expo in Santa Fe, New Mexico and at this show will also be presented with the $1,500 grand-prize gift certificate.
