Some Heart Jewelry Ideas

Tuesday January 22, 2008
If nothing else, Valentine's Day is a good excuse to use heart components in your jewelry designs. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

Lampwork beads are one easy option when making jewelry with a theme. These lampwork beads were made by my pal, D.D. Hess, who is pretty well known for her heart and flower beads.

Then, of course, I have a lot of different projects available under my section called (what else) Valentine's Day Jewelry Projects, such as my Purple Romance Earrings (yes, purple is a good Valentine's color just like pink and red are).

And don't forget some of our sparklie favorites - crystals! These heart shaped crystal beads (from JSBeads.com) are a gorgeous deep Siam red made by Swarovski (of course). They come in side-drilled as well as regular drilled (as in through the middle) and also with a hole just at the top if you want to make them into little charms.
