Bead Power Update
As you can imagine, the response from many of our other forum members and jewelry community in general was overwhelming, and the group ended up getting loads of supplies donated to them.
In order to help us all keep up with the women's progress, there is now a blog that shows them making jewelry, pictures of finished jewelry, and an on-going list of supplies still needed. Not surprising, it seems to be that findings are the main items on their wish list.
This really shows how the jewelry making bug is contagious no matter who you are, where you are from, or what language you speak.

Lillian, I also learned most of what I know from the About.com jewelry Website. I was proud of what I learned, but now I’m much more proud of how I’m sharing my skills!
I Would liek to give my eternal thanks to About.com I have learnt so many valuable lessons in the jewelry business, In my country jewelry making is common place but in the Pacific (Solomon Islands) but with your basic tips I was able to create unique pieces that sold very well, with your business tips I have now been able to get togather with my Boss, who also loves jewelry making I have refered her to about.com and we now have a monthly cheese & wine with some coffee on a monthly basis where women come togather and we can display for sale our crafts….THANK YOU SO MUCH, - I have my blog running and I have placed a window advertising About.com….I have encouraged women to browse there too….KEEP UP THE GOOD SUPPORT!
