Halstead Jewelry Grant Winner

Saturday September 1, 2007
The winner of the National Jewelry Award, sponsored by Halstead Bead, Inc has been announced. Congrats to Belle Brooke Barer!

This is the second time Halstead has offered this grant for jewelry designers who make what is called "bridge jewelry," designs that bridge the gap between fine jewelry and costume jewelry. The winner is given $6,000 in cash and merchandise. Defnitely a wonderful shot in the jewelry arm for anyone trying to get their jewelry design business off the ground.

Barer's designs are a combination small fabricated pieces, which she then solders together to form various shapes. Many are accented with gemstones.

You can find out more about the grant and this years winner from a press release sent out by Halstead.

I have to agree as well. Very creative, beautiful jewelry. But I was so irritated by the website I didn’t look at it all.
