Your First Jewelry Steps?

Friday May 18, 2007
A forum member started a wonderful thread on our forum about when she first started making jewelry, and many are joining in: I would start a post putting a 'shout out' for any who would, to add to this.

In the Beginning I.....

bought a pair of pliers from Wal-Mart for about $4.00 thaat I wouldn't do without. They have a pink handle with a ridged jaw, a cutter, and a flattener. I have replaced them, the cutter dulled, but they are invaluable to me.

Okay, now my turn....In the beginning I...

Went to a rock show and saw some great jewelry and said, "I can make that." I went to another rock show and bought chip stone beads, strung up as 36 inch necklaces. I took them home, borrowed tools from my husband's tackle box, and took apart the necklaces to make earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Okay, your turn. Comment here or post on the forum.
