Wide Needle for Blind Beaders

Wednesday April 4, 2007
Okay, maybe you aren't blind, but sometimes when you use a beading needle, especially for bead weaving, let's face it: you think you are going blind as you try to get that tiny thread through that tiny hole in that tiny needle. Actually, when I first started trying to learn bead weaving, I think that was the most difficult part - threading the needle!

Top help out with the eternal struggle of needle and thread, Fire Mountain Gems & Beads has a new product called the Wide-Eye Needle. Basically, the whole needle is an eye, and it supposed to super flexible to boot. It is designed for off-loom and loom bead weaving.

Tammy,
I’m glad someone else is carrying this type on needle. I bought what you discribed at Hobby Lobby. BUT it had only 1 needle. and one size. It is great for those of us who Do have a hard time seeing those tiny holes.
I am glad to find a smaller size for those projects that require a smaller needle than 3-4 inch needle.
Thank you so much.

I’m surprized everyone in beading/jewelry making doesn’t already know about and use these. I’m new to jewelry making, but this is all I use in my beadwork. I started using them when I bought a pack of these just to try them out in addition to your stardard set of beading needles and when I went to thread one of those stadard needles (the one with the biggest eye in the pack), I broke the threader because the thread was too thick to pass through. At that I opened my pack of big oned needles and havn’t gone back since.
