Ugly Necklace Contest Winners

Saturday August 19, 2006
I'm sure this has happened to all of us at one time of another. You think up a necklace design, and start going at it. Your original idea seems like it has merit, but your finished product just doesn't live up to the idea you had for the necklace. It may even be...dare I say it...ugly!

Most jewelry makers will do their best to take apart the offending piece of jewelry and rework it or recycle it into another piece of jewelry. But, wait, not so fast. You may actually be able to enter that ugly necklace into a jewelry contest sponsored by the Land of Odds. In fact, the Land of Odds has an annual Ugly Necklace Contest, and they just announce the winners of their 3rd annual contest. You can see some really awful enteries, and I mean that in a good way, at their web site.

So, next time you make an ugly necklace, don't toss it out and take it apart. Think about entering it into next year's contest!
